Bryan was born in Ohio, lived in suburb of Detroit, MI and moved with his family to Florida in 1985. At the age of 15, he assisted his father with cold-starting Veith and Associates in Sarasota, Florida. He graduated from University of Florida in 1993 with Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and also a Business Minor Degree. Bryan went on to obtain his Master's of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of South Florida in 1999.
He has been a Professional Engineer (P.E.) for 30+ years with experience in leading strategic growth and corporate business initiatives including lead/initiator for several successful new “cold start” engineering offices throughout Florida, 1Water and Alternate Project Delivery business practice plan development and implementation, business consulting to public and private clients, and other business management functions such as sales/business planning, managing P/Ls, strategic and new client development, strategic recruitment, technical advisement/quality control, and project delivery on innovative and fast-track projects.
His diverse project experience includes "1Water", potable water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater, groundwater, integrated water resources, and general civil engineering planning and design. He is widely recognized in the industry for his exceptional leadership, integrity/transparency, unwavering commitment to and close collaboration with his clients, strong management/technical skill sets, and delivering high-quality work products ahead of schedule and budget.
Bryan firmly believes in the importance of developing trust-based client relationships by acting with integrity/honesty, communicating openly and effectively, and "doing what he says". He is unique in his ability to offer both creative engineering solutions and developing the most effective use of resources in all aspects of business operations for the highest return on investment.
Recently awarded the distinguished honor of ASCE “Fellow” (3% of Civil Engineers), he has been actively involved in numerous professional societies throughout his whole career including DBIA, AWWA, and ASCE local chapters and at state level. He is currently an external Advisory Board Member for the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment (ESSIE) at the University of Florida. He is very committed to giving back to the local community, the engineering profession, fundraising events for local/national charities, and supporting/coaching youth athletics.
In addition to engineering, Bryan has a strong business acumen. He has provided creative and strategic business consulting to various private and public clients helping them grow sales/revenue, improve client service and project delivery, obtain a competitive advantage, identify operational efficiencies, increase profit margins, and higher ROI'.
An accomplished and avid golfer with a 5 handicap, he currently lives on the West Coast of Florida. He has two children, one a junior studying finance and business analytics at University of South Florida In Tampa. His daughter is in cosmetology school in Tampa.
