VEITH ENGINEERING & BUSINESS SOLUTIONS (VEBS) is providing innovative business & engineering consulting services to help the County become a SMART Utility with a "Best-in-Class" CMOM and Asset Management program protecting the public health/environment and promoting financial stewardship.
VEITH ENGINEERING & BUSINESS SOLUTIONS led the City's Phase 1 Framework Development for the state's first "One Water" Master Plan. “One Water" is a collaborative and innovative approach to enhance sustainability of our essential resources and overall quality of life resulting in multiple benefits."
VEITH ENGINEERING & BUSINESS SOLUTIONS is leading the development and implementation of Charlotte County Utilities Capacity Assessment/Assurance Programs (CAAP) and their wastewater collection system flow monitoring program. VEBS is also developing a pilot project in the Rotonda area to collect flow, rainfall, and groundwater data in order to evaluate I&I and assess field R&R techniques to address any observed areas of excessive I&I.
Working collaboratively with the City leadership, Bryan co-developed the
innovative ONE WATER concept to offer sustainable solutions to address the City's water quality, flood protection, water supply, and ecosystem restoration challenges.
VEBS is providing planning and professional engineering services Sozo Missions, a non profit christian based organization focused on helping youth in the local community, to enhance its existing campus with a new multi-purpose building and site improvements. VEBS developed innovative alternative design concepts for parking, stormwater, and other site features to meeting both the goals of the client and County code regulations.
While at Boyle Engineering, Bryan was the Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Manager that developed the innovative solution to address a critical City need for a boys little league and girls softball athletic complex. The design balanced social, engineering, and environmental needs and constraints.
VEBS teamed with Arcadis provided professional civil and proc-mechanical engineering to design the upgrades to the County's Home Depot Master Lift Station and a new force main that crosses via horizontal directional drill underneath I-75 and Phillippi Creek Branch AA and open cut to it's connection point in Bee Ridge Road near Lake Sarasota. VEBS led the pipeline route analysis phase, the pump station proc-mechanical design, and a portion of the force main design. VEBS services included route analysis, stakeholder engagement, preliminary design report, final design, permitting, bid phase support, and CEI.
VEBS was selected by Pinellas County through it's continuing (as-needed) engineering contract to perform an infiltration and inflow (I&I) study to estimate the impacts of rain derived I&I (RDII) and groundwater infiltration on the wastewater collections systems at 15 sites within the County.
At the completion of the study, VEBS was selected via the competitive CCNA process to prepare the engineering design, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications for new gravity sanitary sewer, lift station, and force main at 5 sites.
While at BC, Bryan co-developed this INNOVATIVE Solution to consolidate the City's Wastewater Biosolids at all of their WRFs to their SWWRF. Project Benefit - Renewable Energy (Biofuel for City's Trucks & Biogas for Combined HEAT/POWER) and a class AA FERTILIZER. (photo by Haskell)
VEBS developed new business case evaluation (BCE) and CIP prioritization processes, an economic analytics and simulations tool, and project funding prioritization tool to help Sarasota County Public Utilities senior leadership and project manager make better informed and justifiable decisions for the complex challenges they face on an ongoing basis.
To mitigate I&I, SSO's, and water quality in five manufactured home communities near Lake Seminole, the VEBS team is designing new gravity sanitary sewers, sliplining existing sewers, 2 lift stations and force mains. The project is being funded through a grant to help address water quality.
VEBS team of engineers, business consultants, and CEI personnel are providing continuing professional engineering services through small and medium size work assignments to address the various needs of Manatee County Utilities, city of Bradenton, and Town of Longboat Key.
